Volunteers are needed to help prepare donations for sale and to help with other tasks around the store.
Our volunteers are very important to us. We greatly appreciate the time and effort they contribute.
If you would like to become a volunteer, here are some things you should know:
1) Volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application (available in the store) and send it to the thrift store manager (additional information is on the form).
2) Volunteer applicants are interviewed by the thrift store Manager.
3) Volunteer time is scheduled in advance.
4) Volunteers are given a work assignment and receive appropriate training for that task.
Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions
How old do you have to be to volunteer in the thrift store?
Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old. Volunteers a bit younger than 18 may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian (or a supervising adult).
Can our club, organization or church group volunteer in the thrift store?
We welcome small groups to come in and volunteer. Call the thrift store manager to discuss your group's ideas at 783.4048.
What kind of jobs do volunteers do?
One of the main jobs that volunteers help with is sorting donations and preparing them for the sales floor. Other jobs include basic cleaning & maintenance, dusting, arranging items on shelves, and straightening up items on the sales floor. Volunteers are needed to move donations from out into the community to the store.
I don't know when I can volunteer. Can I just drop in when I'm free?
Volunteers time should always be scheduled in advance with the thrift store manager. At least one day's advance notice should be given. If you are a regular volunteer (trained) and you find yourself unexpectedly available you can call the thrift store manager and we may be able to find an assignment for you.
